Physiotherapist, Jessica Stainkey, holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from James Cook University, graduating in 2025. She joined the Cairns Total Physio team in 2026 and enjoys working with people of all ages, supporting them through injury recovery and rehabilitation so they can return to the activities that matter most to them.

Clinically, Jessica commonly works with people experiencing:

  • Neck injuries, including whiplash and acute wry necks,
  • Shoulder injuries such as bursitis, rotator cuff injuries and subacromial pain syndrome,
  • Lower back pain and sciatica,
  • Hip injuries, including bursitis, gluteal tendinopathies and groin injuries,
  • Knee injuries such as patellofemoral pain syndrome, osteoarthritis and meniscus tears,
  • Ankle injuries, including tendinopathy, recurrent ankle instability and plantar fasciitis.

Jessica takes a holistic, patient-centred approach to physiotherapy, prioritising education and helping patients understand their injury, relevant anatomy, expected healing timeframes and individual goals. Her treatment approach may include hands-on manual therapy to assist with pain reduction alongside a structured and progressive exercise program to restore strength and support long-term outcomes.

In clinic, Jessica regularly utilises VALD strength testing technology to objectively assess performance, guide rehabilitation and track progress throughout recovery.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle, including hiking, beach days, fishing and camping. She has a strong passion for dance and also enjoys yoga and Pilates.
