Each therapist is skilled in all aspects of physiotherapy but also holds additional qualifications in their special areas of interest.
Cairns Total Physio is owned and operated by Cairns local, Tom Maher. A Physiotherapist himself, Tom has been building the business to now employ 13 Physiotherapists, two Exercise Physiologists, and two Massage Therapists across 4 locations in Cairns and the Tablelands. The team at Cairns Total Physio are all dedicated to health, active living and sport. They practice what they preach, by participating in sport and leading active, healthy lifestyles.
Tom is the Director of Cairns Total Physio. He has been the Head Physiotherapist for the Cairns Taipans since 2005. Special Interests: Sports, Musculoskeletal Injuries - Knees, Hips, Shoulders. Occupational and Worksite Physio.
Tim has been working at CTP since 2010. Special interests: sporting injuries, low back pain, complex pain cases, knee and ACL rehabilitation, post-operative shoulder rehabilitation and strength and conditioning. Northern Pride Head Physiotherapist since 2013.
Julie has been working at CTP since 2016. Special interest: adolescents athletes, sporting injuries, orthopaedic surgery rehab, parathletes and yoga. Julie is an APA Sports Physiotherapist and has completed a Diploma of Yoga Teaching through IYTA.
Chris has been working at CTP since 2013. Special interests: sporting injuries, post operative rehabilitation, vertigo, dry needling and tendon injuries. Northern Pride Under 20s Physiotherapist since 2017.
Ryan has been working at CTP since 2012. Special Interests: neck and back pain, strength training and functional fitness, headache and migraines. Also, holds degree in Exercise Science.
Josh has been working at CTP since 2014. Special Interests: all areas musculoskeletal with particular interest in injuries of the lower limb. Club Physiotherapist for the Centrals Trinity Beach Bulldogs AFL.
Sheryl started her career as a Physio in 2001, she began working with Cairns Total Physio in 2017. Special Interests: neck pain and headaches, lumbar spine/pelvis/hip. Sheryl is our Pilates Class Instructor.
Alex began work at CTP in 2013. Special Interests: Acute injury management, rehabilitation of weightlifting, throwing, dance and football codes along with pre and post op-orthopaedic rehabilitation. Alex is an APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist. Alex is the Physiotherapist for the Cairns Marlins and Dolphins QBL.
Ian graduated from JCU in 2013 and has been working with CTP since 2018. Special Interests: shoulders, knees, ankles, sporting injuries, post op rehab, complex/chronic pain, back pain. Club Physiotherapist for Barron Trinity Bulls Rugby Union
Carlos graduated from JCU in 2013 and has been working at CTP since 2018. Special Interests: sporting injuries related to running, swimming and football and rehabilitation areas of interest for ankle, shoulder, lower back as well as tendon injuries. Northern Pride Physiotherapist since 2019.
Jess began work for CTP in 2018. Special Interests: all musculoskeletal injuries, in particular shoulder and knee injuries. Jess is the Physiotherapist for the Cairns Netball Competition.

For this reason we have physios available at 5 locations 6 days per week and after hours Monday to Friday. If you call us before 10:00am on any weekday, we GUARANTEE we will fit you in on the same day at one of our practices. If we can’t keep our promise, your next treatment is half price.
