Tim joined the Cairns Total Physio team in late 2010, upon completion of his degree at James Cook University, Townsville. In 2019, he transitioned to Director of Cairns Total Physio.

Tim has relished the chance to work at various levels of elite sport; with the Northern Pride Rugby League, as their Head Physio from 2011 to 2019, the Cairns Taipans, as Team Physiotherapist since 2013, and various other sporting teams and individuals including the Australian Boomers, Queensland Reds, Sydney Swans, La Laguna Tenerife & Patty Mills, to name a few.

With this extensive sporting experience, Tim has the ability to professionally manage a wide variety of sporting and musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, including;

  • ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair
  • achilles tendinopathy and achilles rupture repairs
  • post operative shoulder rehabilitation
  • soft tissue injuries such as hamstring and calf tears
  • bone stress injuries

Tim works very closely with his patients to achieve optimal outcomes, to do this he believes in a thorough and in-depth initial consultation to understand all the factors associated with the patient’s story. He then educates the patient on his findings and works with his patients to set goals relatable to the individual. Tim provides clear structure and guidance through out the rehabilitation process to keep the patient informed and understand the where they are in their rehab journey. Tim believes in reducing fear around the patient’s injury, promoting confidence in the body through strengthening and encourages patients to adopt self management strategies and avoid reliance on passive treatments.

Outside work Tim enjoys spending quality time with his wife and daughter, fishing/diving on the Great Barrier Reef, cooking and staying active through running, gym and hiking.

Tim is available for appointments at the Westcourt & Redlynch Clinic.
