Carlos Castro

Carlos Castro, is a Senior Physiotherapist and Director working across our Westcourt and Smithfield clinics at Cairns Total Physio, since 2018.
Carlos holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, graduating from James Cook University in 2013. He is a Level 3 APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, reflecting advanced training and experience in the assessment and management of sporting and musculoskeletal injuries.
Clinically, Carlos commonly supports people with:
- Sporting injuries, particularly related to swimming and running
- Shoulder injuries, including swimmers shoulder
- Tendon-related conditions
- Ankle sprains and instability
- Bone stress injuries
Carlos takes a thorough and patient-centred approach to physiotherapy, placing strong emphasis on listening carefully and developing a clear understanding of each personโs concerns. He combines detailed assessment with evidence-based treatment approaches to develop personalised management plans aligned with each patientโs goals.
With experience across a wide range of sporting and active populations, Carlos focuses on delivering high-quality rehabilitation that supports safe progression, confidence in movement and long-

term outcomes.
In clinic, Carlos utilises objective assessment tools such as VALD systems to guide rehabilitation planning and monitor progress throughout recovery.
Outside of the clinic, Carlos enjoys spending time with his young family, camping and hiking. He also enjoys running, fishing and mountain biking.
